Paris to St Jean de Pied

Boarded the train at 10am for a 5 hour journey through the picturesque French countryside.
I reflect on my night in Paris that I enjoyed much more than anticipated. It was putting myself out of my comfort zone to walk into a crowded cafe surrounded by people speaking French and order a meal that made my experience authentic.
The train to St Jean de Port Pied was filled with excited Pilgrims all starting tomorrow.
St Jean de Port Pied is a traditional stone walled city, cobblestone narrow streets, picturebook stuff ! And Gite de la Jacque Albergue was a perfect choice for accommodation, an extremely quaint 400 year old building. I sat around the table for breakfast with the other Pilgrims who were lovely, the host, Nicole, gave us a Camino journey ceremony including the John Denver track "Sweet Surrender" to send us on our way.
