    My neighbourhood, Senkawa

    Coucou !
    Aujourd'hui je vous fait visiter un peu mon quartier. Ce sera sans doute l'essentiel de mes activités ces prochains jours, car j'ai besoin de faire quelques démarches administratives et achats avant de m'aventurer dans Tokyo et ses alentours.

    Le quartier alentour est essentiellement résidentiel, mais on trouve facilement des Konbini et restaurants à 5 min. Il y a aussi un Don Quijote (DonQui pour les intimes) et un Daiso, ce sont des magasins où l'on peut trouver un peu de tout pour vraiment pas cher, ce sera très pratique pour dépanner.

    J'ai aperçu une longue file d'étudiants en uniforme scolaire en allant prendre mon café de bon matin, il y a surement une école pas loin.

    Hi !
    Today I'll show a bit of the neighbourhood.
    It will probably the essential part of my activities for now, as I still need to settle administrative tasks as well as buy small things before going farther in Tokyo.

    The suroundings of my sharehouse is mostly residential, but I could easily find multiple Konbini stores as well as restaurants arround 5 min walk. There are also a Don Quijote (DonQui) and a Daiso. These two are very convenient stores where you can find almost anything at very small prices.

    This morning, on the way to get a cup of coffee, I came across a long queue of students in uniform, so there is probably a school nearby.    Leggi altro

    First snack

    Après avoir rejoint mon logement et parlé mes premiers mots de japonais (la personne du staff ne parlait pas anglais), je me suis posé avec toute cette fatigue accumulée.

    Évidemment j'ai fait mon premier stop en Konbini pour m'acheter des onigiri 😁

    Ils sont pas beaux ?

    After getting to my sharehouse and speaking my first words in japanese (the staff lady didn't speak english very well), I rested a bit in my room, quite exhausted by this long day.

    But I couldn't resist a stop at Konbini store to buy some onigiri 😁

    Le grand jour est enfin arrivé ! Après près de 2 ans à préparer mon projet de PVT au Japon, c'est enfin l'heure de prendre l'avion. Décollage à 10:35 heure française. Enfin, c'est ce qui était prévu 😅

    Évidemment, je pouvais compter sur la qualité de service "à la française" à l'aéroport. Fini l'époque où l'on préparait son check-in à l'avance pour éviter le stress de dernière minute.

    Plus de staff pour enregistrer les bagages, on doit tout faire soi-même sur un automate, de l'impression de l'étiquette pour bagage à l'envoi de celui-ci en soute. Du coup, tout le monde galère, et malgré une certaine avance, l'embarquement s'est fait dans le stress, et on est parti avec 30 min de retard.

    Arrivé à Tokyo Narita aux alentours de 7h30
    J'étais prêt à une série de vérification, mais pas à ce point là ! Tout était bien indiqué, mais je n'ai terminé toutes les vérifications qu'aux alentours de 10h15, puis j'ai récupéré ma valise sans encombre.

    Au moins j'y suis, et sans quarantaine à faire en plus 😁 Je dois juste faire attention à bien porter le masque et à prendre ma température pendant quelques jours.

    This is finally it. After about 2 years of waiting to fulfill my Working Holiday in Japan, it's now time to take my flight. Departure at 10:35 AM... or should I say it was what was expected 😂

    "French service" was at it's best that day at the airport. I miss the time when I could check-in and finalize it at the airport without stress.

    No more staff to do it at the airport. Instead, clients are expected to perform all the registration using terminals without any staff assistance. If course everyone struggle to do it properly. Even If you arrive in advance, you (and everyone else) begin boarding late. The plane finally took off 30 min late.

    Arriving at Narita airport arround 07h15. I expected to go through many checks related to the pandemic situation and was no disapointed in that regard. Everything was smooth, but the whole process was long, I left at arround 10:15 with my luggage.

    At least I'm in Japan, with no quarantine 😁
    I just need to carefully wear mask and report my health status for about 10 days.    Leggi altro
