Trapped in flight limbo at JFK

After missing our connection to France due to weather delays, we tried to get on a flight to Madrid but apparently Delta’s systems were not wanting to talk to European Air and we kept thinking they had actually rebooked us, over and over, while there were no tickets for us. We ended up staying in a DoubleTree near the airport for the night and slept for a few hours before heading back to JFK to catch a flight to Frankfurt.
