Day 3: To SJPP

Today I will take the bus to St. Jean Pied de Port. I did not get much sleep last night. I think the long afternoon nap was a mistake and my body is still trying to adjust to the time change. I didn't get to sleep until almost midnight, partly because of noise from the street and then the fantastic thunder and lightning storm. I woke up about 3 AM. I finally gave up and got out of bed about 5:30 AM.

Hotel Bearan's cafe doesn't open until 7:30 so I took a walk over near the Camino and found a place. I'm sitting here now having a coffee and watching all the pilgrims pass by. So far, I've met Pilgrims from Wales, France, Romania, and the USA. I was told that the Albergue, José and Maria, was pretty full last night.

The bus station in Pamplona has been updated since I was here. Very nice. I was told the bus will arrive 15 minutes before noon and will be at planta 5-8.

2:11 pm. I just arrived at SJPP and as we rode along the Val Carlos route I really became unsure if I can do that walk. To me, it looks more difficult than the Napoleon route. There were many cars passing people so very close. It looked dangerous, so now I'm thinking of canceling my room in ValCarlos, (which I'll still have to pay for) and just staying one more night in SJPP. Then I can take the bus to Roncesvalles the following day. I have already purchased that ticket. I was just really afraid when I saw it that I would not be able to make it and there aren't a lot of places to stop so I will mull it over tonight and make a decision

By the way, this is the busiest I've ever seen SJPP and when we drove through Roncesvalles, it looked super busy.
