  • Point Quobba

    6 november 2023, Australien ⋅ 🌬 23 °C

We settled on a spot at a very windy, dreary day at Quobba but were rewarded with a beautiful sunset after a break in the weather. Tonight was the first night eating in the van because the weather was so atrocious! Oli was excited as we spotted Hugo's orange van and was lovely to have a quick catch up!Läs mer

  • Warroora Station Rain

    6 november 2023, Australien ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

We woke up this morning to the sound of thunder, winds blowing and we were thankful to be heading off today. We hoped to drive through the rain storm that was passing south of Warroora Station over Lake Macleod but we just missed two rain cells and all we got was a few big spots to make the already salty, dirty car look even worse!Läs mer

  • Sacha-Belles Spot

    5 november 2023, Australien ⋅ 🌩️ 30 °C

Oh wow, did we pick the perfect morning to visit this beautiful spot on the Warroora Station Coastline. There was hardy any breeze, the tide was low enough to swim in the tidal rockpools and the sun was shining.

We had so much fun exploring the little pools, searching for fish, corals and shells. A walk along the beach uncovered caves in the rock shelf, beautiful rock patterns and a kangaroo hopped down the beach!

  • Sandy Point

    4 november 2023, Indian Ocean ⋅ 🌩️ 27 °C

Another fun Coastal 4x4 Track from Coral Bay bought us into Warroora Station and the very picturesque Sandy Point Campground. Situated a stones throw from the beautiful turquoise Waters, and with Mabel protecting us from the southerly winds, we have enjoyed a couple of quiet, relaxing days on the southern Ningaloo Coastline.

Joel hooked but lost a huge fish that finally took the doomed lure, Oli loved finding the shells and sea sponges and "caught" a crab 🦀. It was definitely worth the two almost too steep sand dunes poor Mitch had to tow big bottom Mabel up to get here.

  • Mum's Manta Ray Tour

    3 november 2023, Australien ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

We stayed an extra night in Coral Bay so mum could tick off a bucket list item and swim with a Manta Ray. It was the most perfect day for a trip out onto the reef. Starting with an hour drift snorkel across some beautiful coral reefs, seeing heaps of beautiful fish!

But the best part was getting three swims with a Manta Ray. The beautiful big 4m female Ray was happy to swim around and let us watch her gracefully gliding through the water. What a fabulous experience!

  • Shark Sanctuary

    2 november 2023, Australien ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

From November to March the young reef sharks gather in the shallow waters at the Shark Sanctuary just around from Bill's Beach. It's a shallow, protected area where they stay, growing before the venture out into the greater fringing reef. It was very cool to see them up close in their natural habitat.Läs mer

  • Coral Viewing

From straight out the front at Coral Bay we joined a 2 Hour Coral Bay Glass Bottom Boat and Snorkling tour. • Lakeside Snorkelling

    31 oktober 2023, Indian Ocean ⋅ 🌬 27 °C

Lakeside was a magical afternoon snorkelling spot after a morning at the Oyster Stacks. WA has lived up to its "Windy Always" status but the blue of the water is so alluring. It was a bit of a walk out, but that made the reef, coral, fish and snorkelling experience even better. Some of the best we have seen so far! Plus the sand was strewn with beautiful stones so Oli loved searching while Mummy went for her 2nd snorke.Läs mer

  • Sandy Bay

    26 oktober 2023, Australien ⋅ 🌬 29 °C

This 100-plus year-old lighthouse has a fascinating history of the North West Cape. From the edge of the lookout you get a great view over the site of a World War II radar station and anti-aircraft positions. One of the most amazing sights are the original WWII sandbags that look like rocks!

The show stopper from the Vlamingh Lighthouse is the spectacular panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and Ningaloo Reef.

  • Searching for Turtles

    26 oktober 2023, Australien ⋅ 🌬 27 °C

This mornings search for turtles didn't quite go as planned. With a new snorkel for Olivia we were given the hot tip of lots of turtles at Wobiri Beach. There were turtles a plenty 🐢 breading, swimming and evidence of the previous night's egg laying. Olivia on the other hand had her own agenda in mind and had the biggest tantrum in a long time 😤😡🤨 turtles won this round. The beaches and scenery were the only beautiful things.Läs mer

  • Shothole Canyon

    25 oktober 2023, Australien

The road meanders over dry creek beds and offers a scenic drive through the canyon, offering stunning views of three different colourful rock layers - Trealla, Tulki and Mandu limestone - which make up the sheer canyon walls.

The canyon's name is derived from the shot holes left by explosive charges fixed to set up miniature earthquakes, for seismographic studies during oil searches in the 1950s.
