  • Ju Ju Rockhole

    9 Ogos 2024, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Caught up with Peter & Andy at the house, had a cuppa with them & a chat. Left about 3.30 and got out to the rockhole about 5.30.
Mal left me down at the rockhole and went off to move the car to a campspot closer to the rockhole. Well that ended up being a adventure in itself. He couldn't find the car!! By the time he did it was getting dark. He then got disoriented and ended up driving around in circles. I was being attacked by mozzies so moved to the top of the rockhole & broke off a few branches from a gum tree to use as a blanket for the night.
After settling under a tree for the night, Mal appeared with a torch and saved me, it was 9.30 by then!! (That is a brief record of the evening).

    11–14 Ogo 2024, Australia ⋅ 🌙 18 °C

What a day!! A few spots of rain & claps of thunder & I was a mess. Didn't want to go through what we did last time. Mal tried again to find a way to camp near the spinifex, but we failed.
Then we headed back to the homestead, that was when the problems started. We got to the new yards, Mal stopped and got out of the car and walked towards them. He tripped on the barbed wire & landed on the bits of railway line beside the yards. He was knocked out for a short time. I got him up, dressed his wounds, got him into the car & drove him to the homestead. Andy was a nurse, so she helped with the concussion, cooked us some tea & made sure Mal was OK.Baca lagi

Wow the billabong at the caravan park is not a billabong any more, well it probably is but it looks as if it goes for miles. The lignum around it is 2 meters high in some parts. They are getting ready for the races in two weeks time. Hope it goes will for them after the Big Red Bash being a Wet Bash instead. Going out to the cemetery to look for grasswrens. It has been like looking for a needle in a haystack.Baca lagi

Well it was a beautiful morning then the wind got up along with the temperature! Had trouble holding holding the camera still enough to take a photo. We went back up to look for the Grey Falcon but no luck. Also no luck with the Thick-billed Grasswren at either spots. It was 38° when we pulled up for the afternoon. Both enjoyed the aircon on the car!! Down to 34° at 7pm!!Baca lagi
