Nouvelle aventure : me voilà à Medellín
Le matin, j’ai exploré le centre-ville. Première étape : la Plaza Botero, pleine de statues rondes et rigolotes de l’artiste Fernando Botero. À côté se trouve le majestueux Palais de la Culture, noir et blanc comme un échiquier géant ♟️, et le Museo de Antioquia, qui abrite une grande collection de Botero et d’art latino-américain.
Ensuite, visite du Musée de la Mémoire 🕊️. Un lieu bouleversant qui raconte les décennies de conflit armé et de violence en Colombie. Entre témoignages et photos, j’ai compris à quel point Medellín a dû se réinventer pour devenir la ville accueillante et créative qu’elle est aujourd’hui.
En fin d’après-midi, j’ai participé à un free tour dans la Comuna 13. Autrefois l’un des quartiers les plus dangereux de la ville, marqué par les cartels, la pauvreté et les opérations militaires, la Comuna 13 est devenue un symbole de résilience et de transformation ✨. Aujourd’hui, les murs sont recouverts de graffitis colorés 🎨 qui racontent l’histoire de ses habitants, et des escaliers mécaniques relient les hauteurs du quartier. Marcher ici, c’est sentir la force et la créativité d’une communauté qui a choisi l’art et la culture plutôt que la violence.
Quelle première journée riche en émotions !
A new adventure: here I am in Medellín
In the morning, I explored the city center. First stop: Plaza Botero, filled with round, funny-looking statues by the artist Fernando Botero. Next to it stands the striking Palace of Culture, black-and-white like a giant chessboard ♟️, and the Museo de Antioquia, home to a large collection of Botero and Latin American art.
Later, I visited the Museum of Memory 🕊️, a moving place that tells the story of Colombia’s decades of armed conflict and violence. Through testimonies and photos, I understood how much Medellín had to reinvent itself to become the creative, welcoming city it is today.
In the afternoon, I joined a free tour of Comuna 13. Once one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the city, scarred by cartels, poverty, and military operations, Comuna 13 has transformed into a symbol of resilience and hope ✨. Today, its walls are covered in colorful street art 🎨 telling the stories of its people, and outdoor escalators connect the steep hills. Walking here feels like witnessing a community that chose art and culture over violence.
