Kyoto (Jour 2)

La journée a commencé au majestueux Kiyomizu-dera. Depuis sa grande terrasse en bois perchée sur la colline, la vue sur Kyoto est incroyable : temples, toits et montagnes se dessinent à l’horizon. La légende dit que sauter du balcon porte chance… mais j’ai préféré garder mes deux pieds bien ancrés.

En redescendant, halte au sanctuaire Yasaka-jinja ⛩️.

Puis balade dans le quartier de Gion : ruelles étroites, maisons en bois, et cette atmosphère intemporelle où l’on guette le passage furtif d’une geiko ou d’une maiko en kimono. On se sent comme projeté dans un autre siècle.

Pause gourmande au marché Nishiki 🍢. Entre les stands colorés et les odeurs alléchantes

Et pour conclure la journée : la Kyoto Tower illuminée de nuit 🌃. Dressée fièrement au-dessus de la gare, toute rouge et blanche.

The day began at the majestic Kiyomizu-dera Temple 🏯. From its large wooden stage overlooking the hillside, the view of Kyoto was stunning: temples, rooftops, and mountains stretching into the distance. Legend says jumping from the balcony brings good luck… but I preferred keeping both feet firmly on the ground.

On the way down, I stopped at Yasaka Shrine ⛩️.

Next came a stroll through Gion: narrow streets, wooden houses, and that timeless aura where you half-expect to glimpse a geiko or maiko slipping by in a kimono. It felt like stepping back in time.

Food break at Nishiki Market 🍢. With colorful stalls and tempting aromas.
