Angkor – Journée temples

Aujourd’hui, me voilà plongé dans l’immensité d’Angkor, ce gigantesque complexe de temples khmers construit entre le IXᵉ et le XIIIᵉ siècle. Ici, chaque pierre raconte une histoire… et chaque racine d’arbre semble vouloir participer à la visite.
🏛️ Preah Khan
Ancien monastère bouddhiste et université, Preah Khan était un centre religieux et intellectuel majeur. Le temple est immense, labyrinthique, et volontairement laissé en partie à l’état de ruine.
Je m’y suis perdu entre les couloirs envahis par la végétation et les portes en enfilade,
🌸 Neak Pean
Neak Pean est un temple unique, construit au milieu d’un bassin. Il symbolise un lac sacré de l’hindouisme et servait autrefois de lieu de guérison spirituelle et physique.
🌿 Ta Som
Petit temple discret, Ta Som est surtout célèbre pour son arbre gigantesque qui engloutit une porte. Malheureusement coupé avant notre visite.
Anecdote :
J'y suis resté très longtemps, à la recherche de cet arbre, avant qu'un garde ne m'apprenne la nouvelle.
🎨 Banteay Srei
Surnommé la Citadelle des Femmes, Banteay Srei est connu pour ses sculptures d’une finesse incroyable, taillées dans un grès rose unique.
🕊️ Banteay Kdei
Banteay Kdei est plus sobre, plus silencieux, souvent moins fréquenté.
💧 Srah Srang
Ancien réservoir royal, Srah Srang servait aux cérémonies et aux bains rituels.
Today I explored Angkor, the vast Khmer temple complex built between the 9th and 13th centuries. Every stone tells a story and every tree root seems determined to join the tour.
🏛️ Preah Khan
Once a Buddhist monastery and university, Preah Khan was a major religious and educational center. The temple is huge, maze-like, and intentionally left partially unrestored.
🌸 Neak Pean
Neak Pean is a unique island temple built in the middle of a reservoir. It symbolized a sacred Hindu lake and was believed to have healing properties.
🌿 Ta Som
A small, quiet temple famous for the massive tree growing over its gate, nature winning, once again.
🎨 Banteay Srei
Known as the Citadel of Women, Banteay Srei is famous for its incredibly detailed carvings made from pink sandstone.
🕊️ Banteay Kdei
A 12th century Buddhist temple, Banteay Kdei is quieter and more minimalist.
💧 Srah Srang
An ancient royal reservoir used for ceremonies and ritual bathing.Læs mere
