We arrived in Verona a beautiful city were we did a walking tour, Verona has a very fast moving river called the Adige it runs 410 kms through southern Italy and is the second largest river after the Po
We walked over the Ponte Pietra bridge, the houses have lovely window boxes of flowers and the streets are lined with Linden trees it’s a very green city
We walked passed Romeo house then to the balcony of Giulietta (the balcony was added after when it was realised the play by Shakespeare had a balcony) I had photo of me with the Giulietta statue.
We saw Dante statue, then walked to the arena which is older than the colosseum in Rome. This arena hosts operas and concerts all year round. All the famous Italian opera singers have performed here Pavarotti Bocellii it holds 13,500 thousand people and is the largest open air theatre.
The tour ended there so we went and had a lovely fruit salad and aperil spritzer .
We then drove to a beautiful hotel called Poppy’s outside of Venice.
After a quick shower and change we went to Venice by night we drove over the liberty bridge and caught a boat to St Marc’s square , then walked to a lovely restaurant and had a lovely three course meal I had the fish the dessert was a delicious tiramisu
