• Levi: Northern Lights Village (Part 1)

    Nov 4–6, 2024 in Finland ⋅ ☁️ -2 °C

We spent two nights at the Northern Lights Village in Levi, which is in the Finnish part of Lapland. This portion of our trip was the very first thing we booked because we wanted to stay in a glass-roofed igloo so we could watch the northern lights from bed. We were really looking forward to these nights and boy oh boy they did not disappoint! Despite a less-than-desirable forecast, we got to see some faint lights on both nights! The resort has an alert app which gives a very loud and long notification (which you can't change - we tried) whenever the northern lights are visible over the cabins so we had quite interrupted sleeps but it was so worth it to see the lights again at our last Nordic location, especially with an incredible feeling of only opening your eyes and looking up and they are right there (plus you’re all warm in bed).Read more
