Beynac Castle

The castle is one of the best-preserved and best known in the region.

The castle was built in the 12th century by the barons of Beynac. The sheer cliff was designed to discourage any assault from below.

We had an amazing little lunch at the castle - a bruschetta with creamed asparagus, prosciutto, brie, sun dried tomatoes, walnuts and honey. And we were treated to several hot air balloons flying overhead.Read more
