At the airport, got here 4.5 hours early to give enough time to get through security and safe to say it was a breeze as theres 10 prople here. Having a drink, chris hitting the mocktails hard lol starting as means to go on :)Read more

Finally after 16 hours of travelling, staring at the small tv and attempting to sleep we arrive :)
Chris's bag was taken off by someone else which means we stood there for ages and I was seeing all my future holidays being cancelled if his bag had been lost. Thankfully all was ok and only a taxi ride to the hotel to go! Finally, nearly time to get changed and go out for food :)
Unfortunately no :(
Got to the hotel and the taxi's boot wouldnt open :( thought it was a joke for more money at first, but no.
How many thai men does it take to open a car boot?
Apparently 7! Including 4 firemen with tools. After an hour, every man in bangkok stopping to help with their own ideas (it was like moths to a flame), they took the whole back seat out, fhe built in speakers, dislodged the huge gas cylinder that filled half the boot and released our bags :)Read more

Thai breakfast to start the day ;) not had a meal without rice yet, even had ice cream wraped in a rice coating. Was pretty good actually and kept it cold.
Went round Wat Pho, saw some of the 835 buddha's and spent a lot of time taking our shoes on and off :)
Got 'lost' down a few roads, got offered to buy a lot of things and have eaten a variety of 'strange' yet lovely fruit.Read more

On the hotels recommendation ;)

Took a taxi to the golden mount where apparently they worship budda as well as leicester city. Very, very hot day and the signs don't really help.
Found a tree that looked like the one from Avaitar.
MKC1 What kind of tree was it?

Got a water taxi into town, just like a cheap boat ride, 18baht which is like 50p.
Realised I would never drive in the city, crossing the road takes at least 20 mins unless there is an overpass. The zebra crossings are not respected neither are the lights, lanes, signs, so you have to find a group of people and all start walking into traffic. Safety in numbers is the way.

Train to Chiang Mai

Overnight train to Chiang Mai :)
Had fun trying to eat a 3 course meal, especially the soup course. Settled in for a cheap nights sleep, feels like we in Europe with all the people on the train. Little afraid will fall out only two straps to keep us in.Read more
