    Hezekiah Tunnel and Pools of Siloam

    Hezekiah Tunnel - As the Bible tells us, the 533-meter-long tunnel was dug by King Hezekiah so that he could fortify the city against the invading Assyrian armies without compromising its main water source, the Gihon Spring

    Very cool walk, about 20 min, with very cold water about shin-deep that we waded through the whole time

    We had to wear headlamps - pitch black otherwise

    Pools of Siloam - Pool of Siloam was the starting point for pilgrims who made the annual pilgrimage to Jerusalem, and where they ascended by foot to the inner court of the Temple Mount to bring an offertory to the Temple Court. According to the Bible, the man was undergoing ritual immersion in the Siloam Pool for entry into the Temple compound, and Jesus used the occasion to cure his blindness
