Getting used to these leisurely starts. On the bus at 10 am heading for Brenan in Germany. Not a lot of traffic heading out of Hamburg but thousands of trucks crawling along the autobahn heading for the port of Hamburg.
The traffic built up as we got closer to Bremen and by the time the bus stopped I was first off and looking for a bathroom. Nothing available in the hotel lobby so I charged out the back door and found a restaurant that was good enough to let me use the toilet without buying anything. I think that there may have been a look of desperation on my face. By the time I got back to the hotel all of the luggage was unloaded and in storage so we headed off on our walking tour. Bremen has a beautiful old town with buildings dating back to the 15th century. We had lunch in a local restaurant and then headed back to the hotel to check in.
Gaye and I then wandered around the shops for a while and enjoyed an Aperol Spritz sitting in the square in the sunshine and listening to a busker playing his 4 Ed Sheran songs. Later we joined up with Linzi, Brian, Russ and Karen for another drink in the square before joining Heather and Suzanne for a bite in my restaurant at the back of hotel. It was nice to repay their kindness and we all had a very funny and enjoyable evening.
