Sunday 14 June. Ardglass to Bangor.

We were going to hop around to Strangford Lough for a night, but with the weather being relatively kind, and the threat of a blow tomorrow, we decided to head on up, around the corner and into Belfast Lough, to Bangor, on the south side (virtually opposite Carrick Fergus on the north side.) Lovely marina. Met up with Alison and Gillian. Alison is an FOA member and owns a Fisher 25 called Katie. We also found a Fisher 30 called Orana. Her owners, Desi and Pamela have her for sale, and I am hoping the Fisher Owners Association will be able to help them.

Monday 15 June A Day out in Belfast.

Met up again with Keith and Cindy on their boat ‘Rita Mae’. They were having a problem finding the rigger and Steve had offered to help if they were stuck. Since we were about to catch the train to Belfast to do the T*****c Experience, Steve offered to come over to them at 0800 tomorrow. That was agreed, so off we went to Belfast. Long day. If you decide to do the T*****c Experience, allow at least 3 hours and do the ride, it is included and is worth the wait.
Also, if you go in there, go to Greggs and have a cup of tea and a bun before you do. We did it the wrong way and at the end, had tea and a bun and bottle of water each for LESS than the cost of one slice of cake in the T*****c Experience.

Wandered back into the city and caught the fast train back to Bangor. Just outside the station is a bar/restaurant called ‘Ava.’ In we went for refreshments and ended up having a superb roast beef dinner too.
