2nd Day in Tomar

Due to unexpected car racing up and down our street late into the night last night, complete with announcer and spectators, we slept in this morning and had a slower start to the day today. Then we headed out to Fatima, the sight where the Virgin Mary purportedly appeared to three shepherd children on the 13th of each month for months, bringing a message that peace will come soon (during WW1). They have built a shrine there, a basilica, and a church. Every month on the 13th, pilgrims come from around Portugal, walking the final steps on their knees.
