Travelday from NL to Århus, DK

    Aug 14–15 in Denmark ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

I had a 9 hour drive from my home to Århus today. 2 hours in I was already done with being in my car and just wanted to be there.. well thats fun when you need to drive the whole day 😅.

Germany was ofcourse stau country, but Denmark also had a lot of roadworks. I stopped only 3 times because I wanted to spend as much time as possible here. I didnt get to see much unfortunately, but what I saw was absolutely beautiful.

But I need to keep in mind that I the end this is a worktrip, and I'm already very very happy I got to borrow my parents car because I had to bring my harp for Midgardsblot.

Tomorrow is an early rise, because I need to be on time at the ferry so I should really be in bed, but I don't want to yet.. so I'm at the water again for a bit before I head back to my cabinn hotel for a quick shower and hopefully a decent night sleep. It's always strange sleeping in a different location, especially if it's only one night. No time to get used to my surroundings. But I will be okay.

    See yaaa🤍🤍

  • From Århus to Oslo

    Aug 15–16 in Norway ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

    Another long travelday.
I started in my car at 09:15 and stepped out of it around 19:30 in Oslo.

The ferry was a super long but beautiful trip. If there is something I love, it is being near or on water, so I loved sitting outside in the wind, looking at a different part of the North Sea. I wished I could take a nap on the ship tho, but unfortunately it didnt happen.

I arrived in Norway at around 17:00 and it took a long time to get out of the harbour, but I could get out of the sheep behavior of everyone else and was on the road quite quick which was nice.

I drove to Oslo, and as my hotel is in the middle of the center, it was a bit hard to find a parking spot. I ended up in a very shady parking garage which was really hard to get out of again 😅 but I managed to find a nice parking spot behind the Historisk museum and out my harp in my room this time, because there was no wall I could park the butt of my car against. So I had to walk 2 times to the hotel to drop my stuff, but it was only a 5 minute walk so it was fiiinee.

I met up with Marie and we went to a part of the city which is by the water and had decent fish and chips and went for a loooong scooter drive along the water, to the Opera house, the palais, some nice (busy Friday night) streets and ended around 2300, saying goodbye and both going to our own hotel.

We are driving to Midgardsblot from here together which is only about an hour so thats perfect.

Oh and Heilung is performing at Rock the Lakes in Switzerland now as I'm writing this and I've been thinking about them a lot today. It felt so strange not to be there.. 😕 but I will see them on Sunday again 🥹🖤

  • From Dalhalla to Stockholm - Kriigerkvlt

    Aug 18–19 in Sweden ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

Nina joined me to the campsite where I stayed with Maria her sister Lene, and Jacky also joined because she needed a place to sleep. We took Obban with us, but he said he had some family in the area so he left us when we arrived at the campsite. Thankfully we were in contact with him later so he is still alive hahah 😅.

We went to bed at 5 am, and our alarm went of at 7 am.. We had to be at the campsite near Stockholm at 11 am, and it was still a 3 hour drive.
We arrived there at 11.30 and the rest joined us at 12.30 and we had some lunch and started our rehearsals for the Kriigerkvlt recordings the next day around 15 until 17. We then had dinner together, and I went to bed at a decent time to try to catch some more sleep. I shared a cabin with Nina and Ruben, so we watched some memes as our nighttime ritual.
The campsite was beautiful, actually by the sea with a beautiful view from the little beach.

  • Kriigerkvlt recording day

    August 19 in Sweden ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

We had a recording day to record vocals, bass and drums at the famous Atlantis Studios in Stockholm.

We arrived there at 10:00 and went to dinner at 18:30. Had icecream as a dessert, and ended our night on the pier by the sea.

What an amazing inspirational day. I can not wait to hear what we created. Soon 🤞🏼🖤

  • First restday in Stockholm

    August 20 in Sweden ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

    Im exhausted.
Slept only 5 hours, because I am processing too many things at the moment and it was very warm in the cabin. I stayed at the campsite till 15:30, chilling on the pier with the few who were left of our group. I said goodbye to everyone and I went to my hotel, wanted to take a shower and go into the city centre, but I decided I wanted to have takeaway food and just collapse in my room.

I started walking towards a park next to my hotel and found a pizzeria, so I ordered one and Oh my God, it has to be one of the best pizzas I ever had... 🤤🤤

So now I'm just watching some YouTube on my laptop and will see what tomorrow will bring me. I'm probably getting myself a scooter and find a lot of thriftstores.

I wanted to go to nature or go to Birka, but I've decided to keep it simple for myself and don't do too much driving and just chillll.

  • From Stockholm to Aalborg DK

    August 22 in Denmark ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Not a lot to say about this day. Travelday 300 in my head. I woke up very tired and had horrible weather on the road in Sweden. Thankfully, when I arrived in Gothenburg, the weather cleared up, and the ferry trip was very relaxing, and I made use of the opportunity to have the buffet there.
There were a lot of trucks on this boat, so it was really quiet, which was so nice. ❤️

I arrived in Aalborg around 8 ish, a hotel with a LOT of stairs, which is not nice when your suitcase could have been labelled very heavy on the airport 😅.
I grabbed a hamburger from a takeaway place, ate it at the water and went to bed. This day I was just done. I am processing soo much stuff at the moment so I am kind of drained by this point. 🙃🙃

  • From Aalborg DK to Bremen DE

    August 23 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Woke up even more tired 👍🏻. Slept for a good amount of hours, and checkout was at 11 so that was really nice.

Slowly made my way down into Denmark, where I stopped at the Jelling mounds runic stones and church which was a beautiful last place I got to see in Denmark. The weather was beautiful, and I laid down on the mound they found the grave in. I could actually feel sort of a presence there which felt really special.

I laid in the grass for quite sometime before I decided I had to get up to go to Hamburg where I met up with Nina for a short hour to do some thrifting. We didnt find anything we liked unfortunately and we both went our separate ways. She was going to Denmark and I am travelling back home, so we crossed paths basically so we had to meet up ofcourse, because not seeing each other for 2 days is too long. 😅🤣

I arrived in Bremen and got greeted by a big angry American guy shouting at the reception guy, which was nice.. and because we had our listening party with Sowulo, which I was running late for I was quite in a rush, but the guy who worked here had to release some frustrations so we actually had a nice chat about travelling and the countries he likes to visit.

When I got to my room, I jumped on discord with Faber, Micky and Tim and we had a lovely listening party on Bandcamp of our new album NIHT, where actually quite some people came to join us in the chat and listened together with us. What a great closure to my amazing trip. One more travelday and I will be home.

    Good niht 🖤🤘🏼
