Tasmanian Tree Woodchoppers

Check out these huge tree stumps. Maybe 100 to 150yrs ago these trees were felled by axe and hand saw. I suspect all the "smaller" felled trees that have been left might have been used as skids to get the big whoppers out. This little road I have walked I spotted hundreds of these stumps.

One spot only the size of a houseblock there were 13 stumps. Amazing forest views. Getting in amoungst it was like a walk amoungst the tomestones. I was balancing on old logs that were elevated 6 feet high over other logs. Don't tell Kathy. Ok!

Good to see the forest recovering though. Only another 250yrs and it will be back to what it was.
