This stop is for my dad. ❤️ As a Bowdoin grad and ME resident he’s very proud of the 20th Maine and Col. Joshua Chamberlain. Chamberlain commanded the 20th Maine at the extreme left flank of the Union line. Low on ammunition, he ordered his men to fix bayonets, rarely used in combat, and charge down the hill rather than try to hold the high ground. Chamberlain went on to become the president of Bowdoin college and the Governor of Maine.Read more
