We have been seeing these signs with SIA / IAT and finally figured it out.

Sentier Internacional des Appalaches /
International Appalachian Trail

This trail is connected to Mount Katahdin in Maine, the end of the Appalachian Trail, and runs for 1,000km to end here at Cap-Gaspé.

You can also read that France named it the first Grande Randonnée trail in North America. The last 650km are this type of trail and “this accreditation certifies the high standards of quality and promotes the sustainability of this trail.”Read more
