    Veado (Surfing Deer), a famous 21-foot statue located on the cliffs of Sítio in Nazaré, Portugal, positioned between the town and the Forte de São Miguel Arcanjo.The statue was created by Portuguese sculptor Adália Alberto.

    There is a small Surfing museum at the lighthouse. There are a few surf boards of US surfers. And some of the champions that have surfed the big waves to win the premier surfing event in Nazaré, Portugal. Which is the TUDOR Nazaré Big Wave Challenge. It is a one-day, tow-in surfing competition that runs during the winter swell season (typically between November and March), with organizers calling a "green alert" just 1 to 3 days in advance when massive, 40 to 50-foot waves are forecast.
