Stayed overnight at a beach front hotel in San Fernando, La Union, Philippines.

Stayed at Aureo Beach Resort. Nice accomodations and secure area. Highly recommended. Yummy breakfast from nextdoor Seapark Resort included (rice, eggs, beef tapa or dried espada; juice or coffee).Ordered in dinner from Seapark: rice, squid in ink sauce, blue marlin fish sweet and sour sauce.

Enjoyed a morning swim in Lingayen Gulf. Gray-brown sand. Calm deep blue water. Shallow shore line.(Wish: better enforcement of no littering policy)

Ate puto and kuchinta (rice cakes) when not swimming. Not crazy about the taho (the caramel syrup was burnt).

Had lunch at Halo- halo de Iloko located in the downtown area. Enjoyed the chicken sinigang in coconut water, okoy and buko halo-halo. Not crazy about the deep fried calamares, batter mix not good; dish tasted doughy.Read more
