Ferry from Samosir to Tiga Raja

One of the lovely things of visiting Samosair island in the middle of Lake Toba is that the ferry is really fun. Usually only with a few people on it and at an unbelievable cost of only 25,000 or roughly $1.50 per head. Compare that to the cost that we found for taking a 15 minute speed boat ride of 400,000 or roughly close to $30. Frankly I think we had almost as nice sightseeing on the ferry as we would have on the speed boat. It only takes less than 30 minutes to go across to the port of Tiga Raja on the main island of Sumatra and then a 4 to 5 hour drive back to the modern international Medan airport for our flight back to Bali which will take a total including the stopover of approximately 6 hours.Read more
