Huarez - 3050 meters (10,000 ft)

Heading south we make our way to the central Andes, the cordillera Blanca mountains near Huaraz. Another great town and the cool mountain climate was a welcome change from the hot humid region of northern Peru. I could definitely feel the elevation here and was glad to have my anti- altitude sickness meds. The meds made my face tingly though... took about 125mg to start plus lots of coca tea. I would really like to return to Huaraz for more exploring - it's the adventure capital of Peru.Leggi altro
