Day 42. Ligonde to Melide

I was up before 5 this morning. We left at 6 in the dark, foggy morning, Using our phone flashlights to see the route. We had 2 hours of peace and quiet before the crowds caught up with us. It was just wonderful. We had our morning climb right off the bat. Today was rolling hills, not bad. Our destination was Melide and our Albergue was right on the path. We could not believe our luck when we showed up to find that it had a swimming pool! The water felt so good on my legs. I did not bring a bathing suit! It’s just so refreshing! It reminds me of Bernie saying “The Camino has been so good to me”. I feel that way too! Today we walked 14.7 miles (33659 steps). We will have to walk to find a place to eat later but for now a nap and a dip is in order. Today I am grateful for the 2 hours of silence this morning, grateful for the refreshing pool and grateful for 32 miles left to Santiago.Read more
