    Litchfield National Park just south of Darwin, an easy day trip with lots of nice walks and waterfalls. A few of the swimming holes are not open as the wet season doesn’t officially finish until May.

    Another feature of the park is the presence of magnetic termite mounds. The mounds differ to cathedral mounds as the magnetic termites mounds are orientated within one degree of North South. Ensuring some part of the nest is always in the shade and cooler.

    The path around Wangi falls has rainforest on the left and dry savanna on the right quite the contrast.
