    Moonta

    25 september 2023, Australien ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Moonta is a lovely tidy town with lots of old cottages that are just beautiful. We did a day trip to Wallaroo and Port Hughes and discovered lots of beautiful beaches, jetties, and cottages. I love South Australia, though probably not in winter. On the 2nd day, we had a look at Kadina, and I managed to get a physio appt for some back pain, all good. In the afternoon, back at Moonta, we went to Moonta mines and had a train ride around the old copper mines. This is where we learnt about the Cornish miners who came from Cornwall to mine the copper. It explains the Cornish sayings everywhere and the amount of Cornish Pasties sold around. We couldn't leave without trying a traditional Cornish pasty. The pasties are made 2/3 of veggies and meat and 1/3 apple pie, sounds weird but was delicious.Läs mer
