Day 1 Washington DC

Started the morning with a private train shuttle from the senators offices to the Senate chambers via their underground tunnel to a private tour of the Senate gallery. We had a senate staffer giving us an informational talk about the Senate chambers and she talked about what it was like being there when the insurrection mob stormed the building on Jan 6th, 2021. It brought tears to our eyes listening to what our elected officials and staff went through on that day. Then we toured the Capital building, the Library of Congress and finally we toured the National Museum of Natural History. 7 1/2 miles of walking today!!! The feet are tired but it’s worth it all. Good thing we have three more days here.Meer informatie
