Good Morning Budapest

We started out the morning by walking to the Parliament buildings (fun facts: it is the second biggest Parliament building in Europe!!). After that we walked along the canal and saw the Shoes on the Danube Bank. This was such a great learning experience regarding the devestation to the Jews in WWII. I had not realized how much of the Jewish population had belonged to Hungary. It was also really interesting learning about the roles of other countries like Switzerland. Very informative. It was also interesting being here after reading the Nightingale because the two were very much correlated. Then, we hit up the Central Market!! It was HUGE! A lot of meat and fresh produce on the second floor and then you can head upstairs where it's more arts, design, and clothing (everything hand made).
