San Cristóbal de las casas

San Cristóbal de las Casas was our base for almost two weeks, as we recovered and got to know the Chiapas highlands. It's a pretty town with a lovely market and pedestrian zone, as well as thriving social movements (I.e. the Zapatistas). We really enjoyed learning more about Indigenous groups in the area and their political history. We also enjoyed good music and a few small hiking adventures. Would gladly return to San Cristóbal any time!

San Cristóbal de las Casas war für fast zwei Wochen unsere Basis, um uns zu erholen und das Hochland von Chiapas kennenzulernen. Es ist eine hübsche Stadt mit einem schönen Markt und einer Fußgängerzone sowie blühenden sozialen Bewegungen (z. B. den Zapatisten). Es hat uns sehr gefallen, mehr über die indigenen Gruppen in der Region und ihre politische Geschichte zu erfahren. Wir genossen auch gute Musik und ein paar kleine Wanderungen. Wir würden jederzeit wieder nach San Cristóbal kommen!Les mer
