    Arrival at CDG and stop at Fontainebleau

    After our flight which took a path south over the Normandy Coast of France, we landed at CDG, Paris where we boarded our bus. Heading south, we stopped at Fontainebleau for lunch and a tour of the beautiful gardens. Then on the Chablis, in Burgundy where our lodging for the next 3 night was a lovely 4 star hotel.Read more

    We set out to explore the bucolic Burgundian countryside on a visit to the Basilica of Vezelay, after which we return through wine country to a wine tasting of 4 high quality Chablis, prior to another outstanding and lively dinner. Next, we’re off on an excursion to Dijon, and a tour of the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, lunch in the central square, and a visit to the Abbey of Fontenay.Read more

    Loire - Aquaduct, Orleans, and Ouchamps

    We’re now headed for the Chateaux Country, with a stop at the Briare Aqueduct, and Orleans until we reach Ouchamps for a gourmet dinner in our 4 star country hotel in the Sologne District. The next day, in the ‘Garden of France,’ we tour our first Chateau in Blois which is steeped in history, and see the ‘hunting hodge of Francis I, Chambord. That evening a delightful dinner at a local restaurant.Read more

    Chateau of Chenonceau & Clos Luce

    Two absolute highlights of the trip - the tour of Chenonceau Chateau in all its beauty: the flowers, the architecture, the intrigue, the gardens. Sheer beauty and a tad overwhelming. Even more impressive, Clos Luce, where Leonardo da Vinci spent his last years. A marvellous display of his many jottings and notebooks, his painting studio, and mock-ups of his imagining/experimentations. So impressive! Then on to Tours.Read more
