Wanganui for a night

Had a nice visit to Wanganui. Stayed at the Rutland Arms Hotel, played a quirky game of mini golf, and found a little town called Bulls on our way to Wellington. The Rat Hole really was a rat hole.

Museums usually put me to sleep but the Anzac section of this one wasn’t bad, mostly because the giant wax figures were incredibly made.
Quirky artwork, Miramar studios, Te Papa (amazing Anzac display), cable car, views of the city and the parliamentary building once voted the ugliest building in the world.
Arrived in Nelson, pretty little town, then did a day tour of the Abel Tasman coastline including Kaiteriteri, Totaranui & Golden Bay. Travelled by bus, then ferry along the coast, the bus picked usLäs mer
The drive to Queenstown was estimated to be 6 hours allowing for bad weather. We took 8 because there are lots of pretty places to stop along the way.
Crossed New Zealand’s longest swing bring at Bullers Gorge. Then travelled onto Punakaiki where we walked to Pancake Rocks. I was expecting some flat rocks on the beach but what we found was amazing.
Cold and miserable. Nothing much to do except eat and drink. We did watch a great little 40 min movie about the region at the cinema. And had a cuppa at a cute little town called Hokitika.

Helicopter flight for first ever snow experience. Landed on Tekano Glacier.
Shotover Jet this morning - such fun. It doesn’t seem to matter where I sit I’m always the one to get soaked.
