The 1st Geothermal Spring

The steam of boiling water billowing from between the rocks at Gunnuhver was no match for the hissing wind that took over the sound. Thankfully we weren’t close enough to feel the heat, but stillMeer informatie
The Valahnúkamöl Cliffs

Despite the conditions and unpaved road, we remain unphased! Impressive rocks jutting out that are rumored to be Trolls that turned to stone after being caught in the sun, though we couldn’t confirm
What is this Road Side Lake?!

Grænavatn Lake came out of no where and was so green/blue! While we did not visit the Blue Lagoon, this certainly must be similar
The Seltún Geothermal Area

Warm sulfur rich water (trust us there was no denying the smell) has lead to just amazing geography and colors. Windy as can be that was just Iceland’s plan this morning.

Did I Say Last Stop

Out of no where there was another lake, though less blue the cliffs leading down to it and the windy road were reminiscent of the PCH.
Our Day 1+2 Abode

After a stop for lunch and scenic drive through the Icelandic country side, the sky tried to clear the rain as we arrived at Hótel Varmaland just in time for happy hour.

Vatnshellir Cave

The first tour of the trip was awesome, bringing us some 35+ meters below the surface into a lava cave formed from an eruption 8000 years ago. Home to a half troll/half human, the colors and uniqueMeer informatie

After losing track of waterfalls this was the last one visited today just before the rain came in, even though it still looked as if it was coming out of the clouds
