• Post walk: Paris

    June 14 in France ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

I've spent the last five days in Paris. I'm really glad I came. I've visited Notre Dame (yes, it does look brand new, and was an awesome experience to visit it - I had tears in my eyes), the Musee Rodin (I was blown away), the Musee d'Orsay (impressive, but I have to say I was more impressed when I visited the Art Institute of Chicago - but that may have been because they have my favorite Surat work, an an entire room just for Toulouse-Laurtrec, and so many other Impressionist works), the Eiffel Tower (I had a physical fear reaction in the lift to the summit - as I've got older, my tolerance to heights has seriously diminished), the Palace of Versailles (wow, the gardens are massive), and done a lot of walking around Paris and along the Seine. It was nice to see the Seine uninterrupted; the last time I was here it was just before the Olympics and there was stadium seating everywhere.
I happened to see the Australian embassy today - it's a bit of an eyesore.
