  • Day 29 Moved from Zagreb to KRK

    4. September 2019 in Kroatien ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Left Zagreb to move onto our next destination 110 miles away, over the mountains. Very scenic view as we came out over the trees and down the mountain to cross the bridge onto the island of KRK. Arrived at the campsite to find very few pitches left available. Walked the site to get our bearings and strolled into the harbour at the old town. All looks very good and will enjoy settling down to a couple of weeks here.Weiterlesen

  • Day 44, walking day today

    19. September 2019 in Slowenien ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

So, after yesterday's bike ride, today was a day for walking, we walked around the coast the opposite way from yesterday until we finally hit a small harbour and had some lunch, no where else to stop on route. After approx 4 miles we walked across the border of Slovenia and into Italy on a small coastal road - weard, didn't have to show our passports!
Following lunch we set off to take a more direct route back, up and over the hill, in total we cover just over 14 mile. Lovely days walk with lots of great views.
Never seen pomegranates growing on trees before, used to have them in my xmas stocking !

  • Day 46 & 47,Moved to Lienz (A)

    21. September 2019 in Österreich ⋅ ☀️ 13 °C

Travelled up and over the Dolomites from Lipica in Slovenia, passing through Italy on the way to Lienz in Austria, lots of hairpin bends both up and down, but some stunning views of the mountains. ( no snow!). Had a look around the town and the went back into town for a nice Austrian meal. Today we set off up the mountain on our bikes to visit a bathing lake. Worth all the pedalling especially having a coffee stop and some apple strudle. Cycled through some lovely villages. 16 miles in all, little ride today !Weiterlesen

  • Day 48 & 49, Bad Liebenzell, Germany

    23. September 2019 in Deutschland ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Following a nice lunch at Bocking near Scheffau, we made our way through Austria and onto Bad Liebenzell in Germany, near Stuttgart. Had a quick wander round the town. The next morning we got up and did a walk through a gorge, nice walk, thought it would be flat as we followed a small river, how wrong can you be. !! Spotted a kingfisher flying around us and managed to get a photo of him. 10.6 miles later we were back at the van for a cup of tea and rest.
Think we are going to the thermal baths later this evening.

  • Day 50 Bad Liebenzell, Germany

    25. September 2019 in Deutschland ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Second day in Bad Liebenzell in the Black Forest. Hopped on the train headed south to Nagold, had a walk round the village, very pretty and had a currywurst and cake and coffee. Then caught the train heading back and stopped of at Calw, prettier village than Nagold even with a spot of rain.
Got back to Bad Liebenzell then went out for dinner and went for a swim at the thermal baths, nice and warm.

  • Day 51, Heading for Le Touquet

    26. September 2019 in Frankreich ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Left Bad Liebenzell this morning and heading for Le Touquet, stopped on free camper stop at Dieu-sur-Meuse, just before Reims. Small village with a canal and when we parked up overlooking the canal there was one van already parked, but as the evening has gone, a further 5 Van's have joined us. Village nothing like yesterday in Germany, hence lack of photos. Onward to Le Touquet in the morning, arranged to meet up with Smokey ( Paul and Fran) in the afternoon and have dinner with them.Weiterlesen

  • Day 52, move onto Le Touquet

    27. September 2019 in Frankreich ⋅ 🌧 14 °C

Moving from the free site next to canal, where 6 other campers had joined us and headed off to Le Touquet. Pitched up on a camp site that Paul had booked for us, then Paul & Franscoise came and picked us up and took us for a grand tour of Le Touquet, very nice place, not typical France at all. They took us to their shop where we had an afternoon tea, very nice, then following more site seeing we had dinner with them in an Italian restaurant, then back to the van for coffee and a nice chocolate purchased in the town. Lovely afternoon and evening to draw the adventure to a close.Weiterlesen
