    Mushroom Tuesday

    October 15, 2024 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 45 °F

After all the rain we had yesterday, I awoke to fungus everywhere! I love mushrooms. I wish I knew more about them like which ones are edible. For now, I enjoy finding them pushing up against the soil after a strong rain. Knowing that what I see is only a small part of these amazing fungi (which can span miles underground) fascinates me. So today I took way too many pictures of mushrooms.

I woke up and went on a short hike to Rainbow Falls. On my way there, I noticed a beaver dam, but no beaver. It's so fun to get 5 miles done before noon.

I enjoyed the sound of the water cascading over the rocks, the smell of the damp moss, and the soft trail under my feet. I'm amazed how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place.

In the afternoon, Cindy took me to One Mile Park and we walked on a (you guessed it) one mile loop boardwalk. I found a huge metal bell to ring and a little Western Toad. The day stayed overcast but it never rained. It was perfect.

    Until tomorrow
