    Early Morning

Kudos to Joan for driving us to SeaTac airport at 4 AM. AMAZING Friend 👏 I'm still rehabbing my knee and needed a wheelchair at the airport. I enjoy not waiting at TSA and for the first time, got to use automated chairs! Alaska has them only in concourse C at SeaTac. They were so smooth and intelligent!

We had a quick 2 hour flight to Reno then an hour drive to Lake Tahoe. Luckily, we were able to get into our condo early!

We both took a nap. I hit the pool and Cindy went shopping. We have amazing views of the lake.

Today we went on two walks. The first one was at Kahle Park and the second took us to Lake Tahoe. I touched the water then we sat and watched the waves and gulls.

It was a beautiful day and probably our last warm one. It felt good to stretch my knee.

Cindy found the nearest public library and I now have 2 puzzles! The evening was spent in the pool and hot tub, puzzling and watching Call of the Midwife.

    Vacations are so relaxing!

  • Wonderful Time

It's been over 25 years since Cindy and I drove through Lake Tahoe. I can't say I remember much. This week I am impressed with the size of the trees, scampering chipmunks darting here and there, huge white rocks, and the relaxing calm.

I've been single mindedly rehabbing since my June 27th knee replacement surgery. This was our celebratory trip. I continue my exercises in the pool and walk stairs daily. I was bubbling with kid-like excitement to walk on a Real Trail (pretending to hike) for a mile. It felt glorious!

Most vacations are too long after a week. This vacation has been relaxing. We drove around the entire lake, visiting California and Nevada. I'm returning home with a suntan and finished 3 online trainings I needed to get done for Woodland Park Zoo. Cindy said she could probably work from here as the table where her laptop resides looks over the lake and mountains. It is quite the view!

I hope we can bring home this relaxing feeling and continue our short walks in nature.

We check out in a couple hours then drive to Reno to fly home. It's only a 2 hour flight so I'm positive we shall return next year!
