San Diego, California

The USS Midway was commissioned in 1945 as the largest ship in the world. It was named after the battle of Midway which was considered the U.S. Navy's greatest victory during WWII.

The aircraft carrier saw action in Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf War. It was decommissioned in 1992 in San Diego and opened as a Museum in 2004.

Denny and I spent some time roaming around the flight deck before heading out for a luscious steak and lobster dinner. The folks at the restaurant really did the anniversary and birthday thing right with rose petals and birthday confetti strewn on the table.

Nice touch.
