Pit stop in Salem to check out the capitol building! Lots of construction going on around and in the building. Weird to see people starting their day, when I've been up since 4. On to Eugene now!

  • Eugene, OR

Stopped in Eugene for some chores. Got beer and groceries stored. The. Stopped by a local brewery ColdFire, they had great beer. They recommend Oakshire to fill my growler up, which was also delicious. Finally made my way to see Pre's Rock, which was a mix of emotions. Something I've always wanted to go to since high school. So it was kind of weird finally being there, very somber....

But after a tear or two, on to the redwoods which is just a short four hour drive away. I'll make a stop for wood, but that should be it from here on out.
Eugene is beautiful. Can't wait to come back.

  • Camp Tacos!

    May 24, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 54 °F

Made it to camp with fire wood in hand! I will admit I forgot what campsite number I booked, but Jake and Haylee were there and saw me before I saw them! Jake was already working on dinner. I unloaded some stuff and enjoyed being in the woods.Read more

  • Camp Day 1

    May 25, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 61 °F

Full day to explore!! Started the say off with bagel for breakfast. Walked down to the river. I brought my fly rod and casted for a bit. No fish bites. The river was very fast and it was windy. But very cool to hang out.
Headed into town to get a few last minute things. Stopped by the beach to see the ocean and drift wood.
Got back to camp, had awesome BLTs for lunch, thank you Jake and Haylee!
Played some games! Had a blast. Took a bit of a break from camp to fish again. Again no luck but fun!
Got back chilled for a bit then Josh stated on dinner. Shepherd's Pie and Peach Cobbler for desert.
Kookie was a good doggo all day long. Very surprised she didn't just pass out once we got back to camp.

  • Camp Day 2

    May 26, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 61 °F

Said goodbye to Jake and Haylee as they headed home.
Josh, Kyra and I had breakfast, then headed out to the Grove of the Titans. It was a cute little hike with VERY large trees.
Headed back to camp, played some games. Josh took a nap and Kyra and I went back to the river. I fished and she hung out with Kookie.
I got back to camp and I started on dinner, steak strips and roasted brussels. It was decent, definitely over cooked the steak, but the veggies were good.
Chilled by the fire then went to bed.

Oh yeah, I cut my finger REALLY good by cleaning my kitchen knife.

  • Stop in Grants Pass

    May 27, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 72 °F

I neglected to take many photos, but I saw these pretty poppy flowers!
I also scored some Dutch Bros, and In-n-Out!
The town was celebrating memorial day. So traffic was really slow.
Saw some flight jets doing a fly by, scared the crap out of me because they were so loud! But still very cool to see!
    Then on ward home!

  • Home!

    May 27, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 57 °F

Made it home! Listened to the Mariners game for the last two hours, which made the drive go faster.
Grateful to also have talked to my brother and best friend for a few hours before the game started, which made the drive very enjoyable and easy. I'm exhausted and probably won't unpack anything until tomorrow.
    What an excellent trip ☺️☺️
Oh my finger is half numb, but the cut doesn't need stitches... Probably
And I drove for about 20 hours and almost 1,000 miles. I think I ended around 990 when I looked, pretty cool!!!
