• Dinner at Osaka Kaiten Sushi

    8 de marzo de 2021, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

We've ducked accross the road from our hotel to have a Japanese feast. Starting with the sushi train, we've had fried chicken sushi, teriyaki chicken rice balls, raw salmon, poached prawns, and tempura prawns. Michael even was game and tried the seaweed ones, and didnt mind it! He also likes the rice when it's well cooked and sticky like the Japanese have it (which is a score in my book as it opens up lots of dining options). Then we had chicken karaage and some of the best pork dumplings we've ever had. Silky smooth thin skins, with great unami in the pork flesh and stock. Then, it was soups, with Michael having a half serve of ramen and me a small miso soup, then we shared a beautiful beef Katsu curry. Finished up the night with a range of ice creams and rice cakes (sakura, vanilla and mango cakes, mango, green tea and black sesame ice cream). Ice cream based of herbs and spices is seriously the best. The meal seems like a lot but portions are small and so it felt both light yet filling. Yummo!!! Also, we had Nippon Chu Hi Ciders, I had Yuzu flavour and Michael had peach. Mine was refreshing but Michael's was heavenly, one of the best ciders we've ever had. Winning, full and happy!Leer más
