    gebastica/sibenik/vodice/pakostane

    August 3, 2022 in Croatia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Left 6ish no breakfast. Studenac opens 7am pretty early but only get drinks. Ride to Sibenik has a big city feel and hilly went up main hill in the town got lost at the magic roundabout but found right road eventually to bridge and vodice. Stopped at Vodice getting hot. Vodice was big place but no restaurants serving food until later. Another Studenac meal of yoghurt and chocolate. I am falling in love with Stunenac https://www.studenac.hr/en/list-of-stores
. Must be the heat Asian 7-11s are 10x better. Found vodice beach sat in shade with 10,000 other people, swam slept, swam slept. camping is great for sleep deprivation and post camping sun bathing catch up. Woke up 5pm started cycling to Pakostane arrived at camp site by lake really cool gave me cheap price, had electricity to charge stuff. Had really good beach bar I am not drinking alcohol but met really friendly French family Pierre and Francoise travelling to Serbia in a van slowly.

    vransko to camp mioric

    August 4, 2022 in Croatia ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Today started badly and got worse and worse. Left my charger in the camp site then got a slow puncture. Found pump I had didnt work. Found a man renting e-bikes weirdly in the middle of nowhere he had a pump but quickly "fixed my tyre" but he was rushing off to hospital with his wife. So ignored my pleas that it was going flatter as we spoke. His son shrugged his shoulders as the ebike man zoomed off in his car. Rode with a slow puncture for 30 minutes until hit gravel. Gravel road had around 6 different directions Google hadnt mapped all of them. Got lost wandering around was like the film the https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_Tall_Gra… except the grass was short. The puncture eventually became totally flat. After 2 hours trapped in the "Short Grass" found some shade to fix the puncture. The pump was very hard to use but eventually got a working tyre. Lost about 4 hours now baking hot. Travelled slowly, very hot kept resting every shade I could find then I got another puncture had to use the repair kit as only supplied with one inner tube. Note for the future always bring your own spares and pump. Cycled another 20km got another puncture aaarrgh !. Fixed patch starting to get dark was doing repair under a street lamp. Whole German Croat family ( about 10 people 3 generations) was watching and helping got tyre fixed but was now 9pm and very dark would have cycled on I had lights but they kept saying it was too dangerous they convinced me to get a taxi it would be 6 euros. So. I agreed was relieved to get to camp site and bike tyre was still pumped up. Taxi was 400kn so closer to 60 euros but was too tired to argueRead more
