    Left Venus Bay and was going to go to Fowlers but after speaking to BT guy in the caravan park we were turned off and decided to go to Penong instead. Was quite warm, the park was clean but boring. No phone or TV reception. Drove to Cactus Beach and Port Sinclair. Beautiful sceneryRead more

    Today we had a very easy day and caught up on cleaning and washing. Car was filthy.

    Today we drove Esperance's Great Ocean Drive. Stunning scenery along the coast, with pristine beaches. Beaches visited included West Beach, Blue Haven Twighlight Beach. Also climbed Observatory Point and visited the pink lake (which is no longer pink)Read more

  • Lucky Bay

    Today we headed of to Lucky Bay. The sand on the beach is very fine and squeaks when you walk on it. We were also lucky to see a few Kangaroos on the Beach. Also visited Thistle Cove where the only way down was over rocks. Also passed Frenchman's Peak which you can climb up but was too steep for us.Read more

  • Recerche Archipelago

    Today we went on a cruise around Recerche Archipelago. The archipelago consists of over a hundred islands, of which only three do not have snakes. Among the wildlife seen were Australian Sealions. Common Dolphins, Sea Eagles and Cape Barron Geese. Cruise boat stopped at blue haven beach for morning tea and a swim if you wanted. Was a warm 35 degree day.
    This evening had an excellent meal at Thai restaurant with Kelvin & Joanne who were great fun and company.

  • Bremer Bay

    Stopped in Bremer Bay for three days to break up the drive to Albany. Nice little fishing town. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best so sightseeing was limited.
    Caravan Park is nice although extremely busy due school holidays. Enjoyed the Bremer Bay Brewery.Read more

    More sightseeing around Albany. Went down to the blow holes. walk back up was a struggle. Rain set in after lunch. Found a Spotlight & a BCF, not to mention Uncle Dan's, so all is right with world. Pity that there's is no Sunday trading.Read more

    Drove up to Porongurup & Mt Barker today. Raining nearly all day , so gave the granite skywalk a miss for now. Mt Barker has several wall murals around town. Made a nice change from coastline photos

  • National Anzac Centre and Chainsaw sculp

    Today we went to the National Anzac Centre which was very interesting and sad to relive the lives of some of the soldiers. In the afternoon we went to see some chainsaw sculptures.

    Travelled to Denmark today, weather wasn't great (again!!). Denmark is a picturesque town with the river opening out into the inlet. Visited Green's Pool, Elephant Rocks & Waterfall Beach.     Out and about Manjimup. Visited Bridgetown, very pretty. Went and checked out the jigsaw gallery. Some amazing jigsaws. Largest measured 7m x 2m and was over 40000 pieces. Would sink a few beers and wines doing that one. Took a look at one tree bridge or what's left.Read more

    Visited the town of Augusta, where the Southern Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. Next stop south is Antarctica, while west is Africa. Had lunch on the banks of the Blackwood River which flows into Flinders Bay.Read more
