Mataranka - NT

We have been here for a couple of days exploring. Mataranka was made famous by 1908 autobiographic works of Jeannie Gunn. “We of the Never Never”. First night here, we watched the movie. Took a drive to the original Elsey’s homestead and visited Elsey’s Cemetery. We visited the replica of Elsey’s homestead and had a swim in Thermal pools. The town centre had a big termite mound, and a museum. Tonight we went out to Mataranka Rodeo Grounds to watch Nathan Whipping Griggs in action, it was an entertaining show!Læs mere
