• Cooktown - QLD

    17. juni 2024, Australia ⋅ 🌙 21 °C

A coastal town that sits on the Cape York
Peninsula with astonishing views. Rich history of Captain Cook and the booming gold-rush days. We spent our day driving up to Grassy Hill Lookout, walked along Finch Bay, and through the botanical gardens. Then we took a stroll through town and walked along the water and parks. Spoke to some lovely indigenous locals about fishing here. We bought some fresh tiger prawns for dinner. Love the fact there were hardly any tourists here. This place was worth the visit!Les mer

  • Hervey Bay, QLD

    21. april 2024, Australia ⋅ 🌬 23 °C

    April 21 - May 6
Hervey Bay is one of our favourite places to visit. During our stay it has rained most days. Spending time with James’ mum and family is a treat! Each day we try to do an activity like walking or cycling along the beach. Went fishing with Karen in torrential rain and caught nothing but a chill but it was fun. On Saturdays we rode our bikes to all the beach markets. Catching up with old mates Kasha and Chad from Burrum Heads. Celebrating James 60th at a Whale Bay Asian with family and his sister Julie who came from Toowoomba to help with the celebration. Tomorrow we head off to Bundaberg.Les mer

  • Maclean NSW to Eumundi QLD

    19. april 2024, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

A quick visit to Akubra factory in Kempsey.

Arrived in the afternoon at Maclean NSW. We had a nice stroll along the river and sighted the town’s historical buildings. Maclean was laid out in 1862 and early settlers along the Clarence were farmers from the Highlands of Scotland. The telegraph poles in town are all painted in different clan colours. A quaint little town.

Tonight we will set up camp Eumundi show ground and hope to visit the local markets before we head off to Rainbow beach.
