Spent the day at the village for our afternoon tour of the gorge. We had lunch, drinks, a swim and explored the village. Really enjoyed the relaxed environment.

We headed off to town to visit the information centre that had an art gallery, museum, fossil discovery centre and then we visited the old hospital. Took a drive around Mt Isa Mines.

After a long drive today, we found a nice place to camp overnight for our first night in NT. Parked the van meters from the wetlands. Wonderful wildlife and our first sunset in NT.

We found another free fabulous campsite on an old WW2 airstrip. Other campers were spread out which we had a lot of space to ourselves. Another gorgeous sunset.
Bitter Springs - NT

A lovely base for the next 4 days. Daily walks through Elsey National Park, swims and snorkel in the gorgeous Bitter Springs and Mataranka’s Thermal Pool. The water is 34 degrees all year round.Читать далее
