Madrid

We left Santiago in a pouring rain and took the Renfe train to Madrid. We passed through sections where the wildfires had burned earlier this summer. Arriving in Madrid’s Chamartin station, we took another train to Atocha and walked to Hostal Persal. Close to the Plaza Mayor, this neighborhood is full of small squares, restaurants, shops, tapas bars - including the Museo de Jamón - and flamenco shows. We found the show where Ida and her family had been 12 years prior and booked a table. The show was amazing! Afterwards, we found a local restaurant for a delicious paella! We did it all!
