We ve made to our second country after an overnight ferry from Toulon to Porto Torres. A quick 40 km and we have found ourselves in Alghero. We plan to leave Sardinia via Cagliari in the south andLæs mere

Race for the ferry!

5 am start this morning was to save us from the worst of the heat, but with a lot more hills we arrived in Oristano a little after midday. The map appears to show 120 km of relatively flat terrain toLæs mere
Inland sardinia

A much flatter ride today which wasnt so intersting but we made good progress. Hopefully en route to catch our ferry now. Insanely hot by midday nearly slid off the bike a few times!!(hammy post!)
Cagliari

Ostia

We ve made it to the outskirts of Rome where we have checked into a hotel for a few nights to recoup and relax, and eat something other than pizza / pasta or bread! Found a great little seafood place

The partially excavated original port of Rome with buildings dating back to 1st century AD. Silting over the years has moved the coastline back hence it's up the river a few km's. Really impressiveLæs mere
