    Day One

    September 5, 2022 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 79 °F

Day One: ///pouted.apart.slung. We start the "no rush" day with coffee and quality time with the cats. We get rolling and stop at our usual spot for Diesel and breakfast in Mountain Home. Smoky with Calm winds, but it heats up quickly. Open road with lots of campers heading in all directions. The refrigerator starts to climb in temperature as the day heats up, and I keep a close eye on it. Sure enough the fridge starts to quickly loose the battle against the relentless 100° sun beating on the side of the van. When it hits 45° I call the game and we switch the contents to a big cooler we bring along for this very reason. Crisis averted, we continue down into Utah before turning left around Ogden and heading East. The constant climb starts to lower the temperature as we pull into our site for the evening in Evanston, Wyoming. Very pleasant breeze as we enjoy sitting under the trees and relaxing. Cat sitter reports that all is well at home and we start our dinner of smoked pork butt burritos. The evening cools off quickly and it's very nice outside as the sun sets! Down to 62° by 9:00PM! Going to be a great night of sleep.Read more
