• Canola Country

    August 30 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

To be honest you could probably call much of the farming areas from north of Perth to Geraldton canola country.

We went out for a family picnic to an area new to me. It’s much wetter than where I grew up. Some of the track was a bit rough with a creek to cross but mum and I were chauffeured from the sheds to the picnic spot.

There weren’t heaps of wildflowers, a few different bushes with wattles dominating. It was the canola that gave the marvellous backdrop to the picnic.

There was a lot of delicious food, I made an asparagus salad which the asparagus from Bindoon. We were also treated to damper and mulled ginger beer cooked on the fire.
We talked, ate and had a lovely walk. Not much more you can ask for when with family.
